SAN ANTONIO, Texas, April 16, 2008 – Pioneer Drilling Company (AMEX: PDC) announced today that it intends to release financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2008, on Thursday, May 8, before the market opens. As previously announced, the Company has transitioned to a December 31 fiscal year end; accordingly, the three months ended March 31, 2008, will be reported as the first quarter of 2008. In conjunction with the upcoming release, Pioneer has scheduled a conference call for May 8 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time (9:00 a.m. Central Time).
